REVELATION AND THE WORD OF THE GOD

THE BIBLE IS GOD’S REVELATION, THE WORD OF GOD. IT IS THE ULTIMATE AUTHORITY FOR FAITH AND PRACTICE.

GOD

THERE IS ONE TRUE GOD EXISTING IN THREE PERSONS, FATHER, SON AND HOLY SPIRIT.

JESUS CHRIST

JESUS CHRIST IS TRUE GOD AND TRUE MAN. HE SUFFERED AS A SUBSTITUTIONARY SACRIFICE TO PROVIDE ETERNAL SALVATION FOR MAN- KIND.

THE HOLY SPIRIT

THE HOLY SPIRIT IS A DIVINE PERSON, THE EXECU- TIVE OF THE GODHEAD; THE COMFORTER, WHO IND- WELLS, GUIDES, EMPOWERS THE BELIEVERS FOR VICTORIOUS LIVING AND EFFECTIVE SERVICE.

MAN’S SINS AND GUILT

MAN WAS CREATED IN THE IMAGE AND LIKENESS OF GOD; HENCE, HE IS OF INFINITE WORTH AND DIGNITY. THROUGH DISOBEDIENCE, HE FELL INTO SIN AND INCURRED PHYSICAL AND SPIRITUAL DEATH.

SALVATION

SALVATION IS BY GRACE THROUGH THE REDEMPTION PROVIDED BY THE LORD JESUS CHRIST AND RECEIVED BY FAITH IN HIM.

THE CHURCH

THE CHURCH IS THE COMMUNITY OF BELIEVERS FROM ALL CUL- TURES, TRIBES AND LANGUAGES. IT IS CALLED TO BELONG TO CHRIST, TO CONFESS AND PROCLAIM HIS LORDSHIP AMONG PEOPLES.

THE MINISTRY

THE WHOLE CONGREGATION IS COMMISSIONED TO CONTINUE AND FULFILL THE MISSION OF CHRIST.

SANCTIFICATION AND POWER FOR SERVICE

GOD WILLS THE CONSECRATION AND SANCTIFICATION OF ALL BELIEVERS, THEREBY RECEIVING POWER FOR HOLY LIVING AND EFFECTIVE SERVICE.

DIVINE HEALING AND HEALTH

IN HIS MERCY, POWER AND SOVEREIGN WILL, GOD CAN HEAL THE SICK.

CHRISTIAN HOPE

AND THE LIFE TO COME

GOD WILL ACCOMPLISH HIS ETERNAL PURPOSE IN HIS- TORY AND BRING ALL THINGS TO THEIR CONSUMMATION IN CHRIST. IN THE END, CHRIST WILL COME AGAIN PER- SONALLY AND VISIBLY TO ESTABLISH GOD’S RULE OVER ALL THINGS.

HISTORY OF CAPITAL CITY ALLIANCE CHURCH

(Source: The Philippine Christian Alliance by Dr. Bayani Mendoza, 1985, pp. 113-126)

In early 1950s, the Alliance Youth and Professionals from Zamboanga, Sulu, Davao and Cotabato were migrating to the Metro Manila for works and college studies. At that time, there was no single Alliance church in Metro Manila and the entire Luzon. The leaders of C&MA Mission and CAMACOP decided to start ministries in Metro Manila to cater the Alliance members who were migrating to Metro Manila.

In 1953, the C&MA Mission commissioned Rev. & Mrs. E.F. Gulbranson to open a Mission Home in Metro Manila in order to shepherd Alliance Youth Fellowship members studying in Manila, and to receive missionaries entering the country and to act as liaison officers between C&MA Mission and the government of the Philippines. On that same year, the Gulbransons started Bible studies and fellowships among Alliance Youth and Professionals who already here in Metro Manila. They first gathered at Dominga St., Pasay City. The group grew so fast that before the end of 1953, two deaconesses from Zamboanga, Ms. Teodocia Bello and Ms. Ella Villalon were sent to Metro Manila to reinforce the Gulbransons.

In 1955, the C&MA Mission bought a property at Sandejas St., Pasay City and the leadership decided to move the Bible study fellowships there. In the same year, another group was organized in the slum area of Tondo. The two fellowship groups were growing because more students and families continued to arrive year after year. On March 1955, the C&MA sent another reinforcement from Zamboanga City arrived at Manila, Ms. Ruth Ziemer, to work among the students.

In 1958, there were 2 growing congregations in Metro Manila area and they gathered every Sunday at the Mission Home in Sandejas St., Pasay City for worship, nurture and fellowship. The Gulbransons left for the US for their much needed furlough and Pastor Raymond Kowles and family took their place. The group was increasing in number and they needed more space. They had been on the lookout for a lot between Quiapo and University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City. Their search ended when they felt led by the Lord to purchase the lot where CCAC is now standing for the last 49 years.

The C&MA Mission purchased the lot, drawn the building plans, and invited Pastor. & Mrs. Gervacio Dimaano to be their first national pastor so that Pastor Raymond Kowles was free to devote more time to the supervision of the construction. This he undertook with all possible speed that both church and parsonage were dedicated on November 5, 1961 with the members of 2 fellowship groups as members and with the official name as Capital City Alliance Church. This is the beginning of the Capital City Alliance Church, the first Alliance Church in Metro Manila and the entire Luzon.

In partnership with the C&MA Mission and CAMACOP, Capital City Alliance Church started planting church in Metro Manila and nearby provinces, then later all over Luzon. Here is list of few local churches planted by CCAC in Metro Manila.

  • Pasay City Alliance Church
  • Pilar Gospel Church
  • South Manila Alliance Church
  • Alliance Gospel Church – Valenzuela
  • Alliance Fellowship Church
  • Sunshine City Alliance Church
  • Fairview Bible Church
  • Novaliches Alliance Church
  • UP Bliss Christ Fellowship
  • Project 8 Alliance Church
  • Alliance Holiness Church
  • Makati City Alliance Church
  • San Juan Alliance Church
  • CCAC planted more churches in provinces

In 1961, there was only one local church in Metro Manila and entire Luzon. CCAC did become a mega church because of her mission to plant churches in Metro Manila and Luzon. As of September 2010, CAMACOP reports shows that there are now 84 local churches in Metro Manila and 393 local churches in the entire Luzon. To God be the glory. Amen.
